General Information:
  • In Junior High, all assignments must be turned into Google Classroom. For assistance, please refer to this link: https://support.google.com/edu/classroom/answer/6020285?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop
  • All official grades can be viewed in PowerSchool. Students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will send home an email update every Friday to their parents with a snapshot of their grades in PowerSchool for increased visibility of their academic standing. If you are a current parent of a Junior High student(s), please let us know right away if you are not receiving these emails on Fridays.
  • Parents, you will have access to PowerSchool and Google Classroom alerts so you can better monitor and track your child(ren)'s academic progress. Please make sure that your preferred email is up to date and spelled correctly at the beginning of the year. If you are NOT received a weekly email from your child(ren), please let us know as soon as possible so we can work with IT to make sure the correct email is on file.
  • iReady - iReady is an Archdiocese of Chicago mandated Math and Reading supplement that will provide students personalized lessons based off their performance on diagnostic tests. Three times a year students will take the iReady Diagnostic; these diagnostics are the standardized tests for the Archdiocese. The results of these will dictate the concepts the students will practice on their personal iReady lessons. These results are also sent to the high schools when 8th graders apply to high school.
As part of the students’ assignments, and a requirement by the Archdiocese of Chicago, they must complete a certain amount of iReady lessons each week. Students are expected to complete at least 2 lessons each week. Students who complete more than 2 lessons within the same week (Monday – Sunday) will have their 2 highest scores recorded as grades. For example, if their first two lessons scores are 75 and 80, and then they complete a third lessons within the same week for a score of 85, their grades will be 80 and 85 in PowerSchool. Additionally, students who complete more than 2 lessons in the same week will receive some extra credit as well.
