6th Grade - Math and Social Studies

Welcome to 6th Grade Math and Social Studies! All assignments and materials are posted in Google Classroom and students are expected to submit all assignments in Google Classroom as well.

 

Math: The syllabus for Math are in the side bar as well as the link to Khan Academy for 6th grade Math. I encourage the students to leverage this resource as the videos provide helpful direction and there are practice problems.

 

Social Studies: The syllabus for Social Studies is in the side bar. We'll be exploring World History this year. Each student will write about a current event and present to the class at minimum 3 times throughout the year (once per trimester). Current Events are the only assignment not posted in Google Classroom. Students pick their presentation dates at the start of each trimester; if they are not prepared to present on their chose date, the late homework policy applies. Calendars showing the students dates are posted in my physical classroom as well as in Google Classroom. Verbal reminders are also given to the students a day or two prior to their presentation date. Students who choose the last day of the trimester to present will not have the opportunity to present late, as they have had the whole trimester to remember and prepare for their current event. (Current event topics are to be chosen within no earlier than 2 days of their presentation date.).
