Early Childhood Program

Our Early Childhood Program is exceptional.  We have three and four year old preschools with full day programs.  We have a full day kindergarten program.  Our teachers attend school and outside professional development focused on early childhood education. St. Bede is part of the ECLIP program, which allows for 30 minutes of immersive Spanish lessons each day!

Three Year Old Preschool

Learning/Thought/Play environment that emphasizes the thrill of discovery.
Social and emotional growth through interaction with peers.
Introduction to letters and numbers to build familiarity.

Four Year Old Preschool

Emphasis on phonemic awareness and letter sound recognition taught through songs and interactive read aloud time.
Introduction to math concepts with daily calendar activities which include counting and patterning.
Engaging the imagination through activity centered play time including dramatic play, puzzles and games, art center and sensory table.

Kindergarten

Focus on reading and writing with daily writing journals, sight word recognition cards and small group reading instruction.
Thematic units throughout the year with science and social studies focus.
Hands-on math activities using manipulatives to visualize a concept and math centers to explore concepts and develop skills.

Weekly specials include Physical Education, Library, Art, Spanish, and Computers
